Ayushmann Khurrana Adds A ‘NO OTT’ Clause For His Next Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui; Here's Why
Ayushmann Khurrana who has completed shooting for his next Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui in the last two months, has added a new clause to his contract. As per reports in Pinkvilla, the actor has added a 'No OTT' clause to this film’s contract. As many films skipped the big screen release and opted for OTT release with the outbreak of COVID-19. It seems like the actor is now making sure, his next movies will release in theatres, and this clause would help the actor to have a clear understanding of what he is signing.

The publication’s source said, “In today’s uncertain environment, a lot of films are taking the direct to digital route and Ayushmann wants to be sure of what he is signing up for. Hence, he along with his team have devised a plan to clearly bifurcate between OTT and theatrical content before coming on board a film. His contract for Chadigarh Kare Aashiqui assures a theatrical release. The idea is to know what he is signing on for, and decide on the content based on the medium of showcasing.”

Ayushmann’s Gulabo Sitabo marked the first film to be released on the OTT platform, though the actor is open to digital projects, now he wants to know the platform on which it will be released while he signs the deal. The source said, “Although Gulabo Sitabo was the first film to arrive on the digital world, he is now clear on bifurcating between the two content. While he is open to be a digital star too, he wants to know the platform of showcasing before joining the gang.”

The actor signed Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui only after knowing the makers release plan, the source added, “Only after being on the same page regarding the release plan of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui did he come on board the film. At this point of time, it’s gearing up for a theatrical release in June.” ALSO READ: Ayushmann Khurrana Returns To Mumbai After New Year Celebrations With Family In Chandigarh; Actor Is Back To Sign His Next Film-REPORTS
